Do You Ever Struggle With Writing A New Song?

Here are a few tricks that can help to beat writer’s block.

1. Plan daily writing sessions and stick to it.

Focus on finishing the song before you start a new idea.

2. Listen to your favorite music.

Play your favorite tunes and let them inspire you. What elements make you like them? Is it the groove? Or the lyrics? Use these understandings to write a song with a similar idea or vibe.

3. Learn more about music or a new instrument.

Challenge yourself and learn a new production trick or songwriting skill. Or try playing a new instrument. These new insights will ignite your inspiration and affect your songwriting process.

4. Listen to new music or genre.

Get out of your comfort zone and get a fresh perspective by listening to new artists and genres.

5. Start writing with a co-writer / producer.

This is my personal favorite. I always write with co-writers. The social and creative interaction can inspire each other to keep writing even if you experience a lack of ideas.

Even big artists like Taylor Swift, Imagine Dragons and The Weeknd always write in teams.
